My logo is based on the 美 character but it is missing a stroke.  I am still working through my relationship with the Chinese language and how much agency I have in manipulating or appropriating it, but this logo is meant to be "almost 美" or "almost beautiful".  美, being my middle name, also carries the meaning of "almost" living up to my Chinese identity.  This meaningless symbol has come to signify a lot to me, and it represents all the ways my artwork investigates what authenticity means, and what it feels like to be "almost".
